Aqueste projècte es un projècte educatiu. Foguèt un trabalh sus la Conception Tipografica donat als estudiants d'ensenhament superior de l'Escòla d'Art, Design e Mèdias, NTU, Singapor. Lo trabalh consistiá per cada estudiant a concebre de Lettrinas en tant que familha de poliças. Lo resultat foguèt de multiplas familhas de poliças creadas pels estudiants e inspiradas de la flòra, la fauna e las caracteristicas unicas dels Jardins Botanics de Singapor. A partir d'aqueste trabalh, las melhoras Lettrinas foguèron imprimidas dins lo libre A Garden For All, publicat per la casa editoriala Epigram Books a Singapor.

Unique Properties: Original Drops Caps were inspired on natural elements found in the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Singapore First UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Production Technology: This project originated as part of a teaching assignment in the course 'Typography III'. It is an industry oriented assignment whose outcome is the publishing of the produced typographical works, emulating a real design commissioned scenario. To this effect, a group of students from 'Typography III' course from the School of Art, Design and Media (ADM), were invited to collaborate with Epigram Books under the Creative Direction of Associate Professor Danne Ojeda. Students conducted field research in Singapore Botanic Gardens, after which they created original Drop Caps in the form of contemporary illustrated type designs for the book 'A Garden for All'.
Design Challenge: To find a unique design direction that will respond to the research abstract, to design and develop a coherent typographical system that carries the essence of the various features of the Singapore Botanical Gardens.
Research: To design Drop Caps typographic prototypes, that depict the variety and richness of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, flora, fauna, and any other relevant elements found in situ. This is Singapore First UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Inspiration: TYPOlogy is an educational project. It was an assignment on Typography Design given to tertiary education students from the School of Art, Design and Media, NTU, Singapore. The assignment was for each student to design DROP CAPS as a font family (See images and attached PDF). The outcome was multiple font families created by students and inspired by the flora, fauna, and unique features of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. From this, the best of the best DROP CAPS were printed in the book A GARDEN FOR ALL, published by the prestigious editorial Epigram Books in Singapore (See the last part of the PDF attached with the chapters of A GARDEN FOR ALL, with the original DROP CAPS designed for this book).
Project Duration: The project TYPOLogy: A Garden for all, latest 8 weeks in total. It took place in Singapore, from September to November 2022.
Operation Flow: The Drop Caps are used in the different sections of the book 'A Garden for All', published by Epigram Books, Singapore.
Patents: The copyright rests with the authors.
