About Milano System Mochila Modular
O Milano System é uma mochila urbana modular fabricada na Itália. A mochila principal mede 480 mm de altura, 300 mm de largura e 170 mm de profundidade, e oferece um volume de 25 litros, expansível para 35 litros. Módulos independentes, incluindo um organizador para notebook, um módulo de fixação, um bloco para o dia a dia e um bloco de arrumação, podem ser acoplados e desacoplados da mochila principal. Os fechos magnéticos permitem abrir e fechar com apenas uma mão. São utilizados tecidos resistentes à abrasão e à água. Dois compartimentos e diversos bolsos mantêm os itens do dia a dia organizados.

- Milano System is a 100%-made-in-Italy modular urban backpack designed to meet the needs of global citizens.
Characterized by modularity, the Milano System can be customized by combining different modules that can be easily attached and detached from the main pack.
It is made with functionality in mind and can be customized by combining the following parts: Milano Backpack - the main pack, Laptop Organizer, Anchor, Everyday Block, Packing Block. - Dimensions & Packaging

Fidlock - innovative magnetic locking hardware - Design Challenge
- The first challenge was to find an intuitive and easy-to-use modular system. We researched the military field and came up with a solution based on innovative magnetic hooks. This system allows us to offer a product that is both technical and user-friendly. The second one was building a supply chain entirely based in Italy that would balance quality and price and we successfully achieved this by finding reliable suppliers. We managed to develop the project during all the lockdowns due to Covid-19
- Research
- We did in-depth market research to identify all the pros and cons of both modular and non-modular backpacks on the market. We also did qualitative & quantitative research with questionnaires to a group of people from different cities of Europe (who belong to our target group) to understand the needs and what they would prefer in a daily backpack both from the point of view of functionality and design.
- Inspiration
- Like most people who live in the urban landscape, we spend our days living our lives at full speed. A backpack is our best companion in our dynamic life, where we carry everything we need to stay on the go. However, the variety of activities requires us to overfill them or carry multiple bags. That's how we came up with the idea of creating an ultra-versatile modular backpack, combining the functionality found in the best backpacks, with Italian aesthetics and carefully selected materials.
- Project Duration
- The project started in January 2020 and finished in March 2021 in Milan, Italy.
- Operation Flow
- Featuring Fidlock innovative magnetic locking hardware, you can effortlessly lock and unlock your backpack with one-hand management. The backpack has two compartments, three inner pockets, and one front pocket to quickly access your essentials.
While the Milano Anchor provides modularity through the magnetic system that quickly and securely attaches modules to the pack. - Team Members
