About Humming Tree Mikhuna Mesa

Humming Tree nisqa mikhuna mesam, chaymantapas pampa florero hina llamk'an. Chawpi kicharisqan hatun ch'aki utaq mit'a t'ikakunata, raphikunata, sach'a k'aspikunatawan hap'in. Kay ruwaymi Taro raphip wach'i uma rikch'aynin yuyaymanasqa, chawpi t'ullunwan, sirp'inkunawan, ch'uya kirpanwan. Raphip ruwaynin iskay t'aqaman t'aqasqam kachkan: qara patawan tullu patawan, chaymantapas raphip rikch'aynin kay iskay pataqa tupaykuqtinmi rikhurin. Mesaqa polycarbonate nisqa qorimantawan fierromantawan ruwasqam, 1400, 950, 750 millimetrokunapi tupun. Kay ch'uya qhaway ruwayqa llaqta wasikunapi mikhuqkunaman pachamama kaqkunata aswan qayllaman apamun.

Unique Properties: Humming Tree is a fusion of dining table and floor vase to hold tall dry or fresh flowers, leaves and tree branches. City life has become mentally exhausting and contact with Nature has become less. The intent is to let the diners experience natural elements arranged in the vase and this will help in reducing stress and negative feelings as they dine. It is a see through design with leaf structure split into two distinct Skin and Bone components. The leaf form becomes apparent when they overlap.

Production Technology: Polycarbonate, steel
Research: Benefits of experiencing Nature and natural elements were studied and also the leaf structure of Taro leaf was studied for better understanding while developing the form.
Inspiration: Humming Tree is inspired from arrow head shape Taro leaf structure. Taro leaf collects water at its center spot and has distinct midrib and veins structure with clean blade and this inspired me to develop the leaf form into two distinct layers overlapping above each other and elongate and deepen the centre spot till the floor to function as floor vase.
Operation Flow: The dining table with collection/arrangement in the center spot is a strong stimulus to the diners since the scale is larger than conventional vases kept at the center of table. The human sized arrangement of natural dry/fresh flower, leaves and branches will help in restoring the mind and evoking positive thoughts.
