Square units under TATAMI flooring, rectangular units under and behind sofa, a pantry for filming equipment, not to mention the various tailor made carpentry to fit uses needs.

The design pays more attentions on sizing the right proportion of each area. The execution is completely divergent comparing to big scale space design. As the capital city grows up and the family structure is consequently shrinking in Taiwan, the smart space and limited budget operation knowledge would be beneficial for more people in the near future.

The soft timber expands from base to ceiling explaining the conceptual image of framing gesture. It is the center piece of this project. Flexibility plays a key role in smart living design. The tatami flooring in the living area forms a mixture usage of formal and casual style. It can be a quiet corner to meditate or a space to host more visitors when it is needed. Relocating a dining table next to a working desk, dining room can be transformed into various uses of dining, reading, working, and meeting. It’s also a link to private section in the back.
