About Open Suite Cooker Hood
Open Suite is an architectural element for the kitchen, a modular structure that allows you to create a new dimension within the kitchen space, an industrial style which gives character to the environment. Open Suite is not only a hood but but also a lighting element for the kitchen. It has a a wide choice of shelves, that can suit any need. Starting from four basic configurations (80 cm or 160 cm wall and 80 cm or 160 cm island) it is possible to integrate additional accessories and add modules.
Fabrizio Crisà's Open Suite Cooker Hood represents a thoughtful evolution in kitchen ventilation design, one that reimagines the traditional range hood as an integrated architectural element harmonizing storage, display, and air extraction within a singular modular framework. This award-winning work participates in the broader contemporary movement toward open-plan living spaces where kitchen functions merge seamlessly with domestic social areas, demanding appliances that perform without visual intrusion. The designer appears to have drawn upon the language of industrial shelving systems and minimalist furniture design, distilling these influences into a refined vocabulary of slender black steel profiles and carefully proportioned shelf intervals. The technical achievement lies not merely in the elegant concealment of ventilation machinery behind the louvered lower panel, but in the system's adaptable modularity—demonstrated here through the presentation of both wall-anchored and ceiling-suspended configurations that suggest responsiveness to diverse architectural conditions. The chromatic restraint of the black framework establishes a neutral ground against which the warmth of culinary objects, the verdancy of living plants, and the varied textures of everyday domestic possessions may compose themselves naturally, transforming functional storage into an evolving still-life arrangement. One observes how the perforated mesh shelves and solid wood inserts offer varied surface conditions suited to different object categories, while the transparency of the open structure maintains visual connection across the kitchen environment. The work invites consideration of how contemporary design might honor the ritual significance of cooking and gathering while accommodating the practical demands of air quality and spatial organization, suggesting that technological necessity and aesthetic grace need not exist in opposition.

- Open Suite is a modular structure that allows you to create a new dimension within the kitchen space, an immediately recognizable industrial style, which gives character to the environment.
Open Suite embodies more functions, not only hood, but also light and a wide choice of shelves, in a modular structure according to your needs. It allows you to create your own version by combining different 80 cm modules, to play with spaces, and recreate geometries and lines according to personal tastes. - Dimensions & Packaging
- The basic module is 80 cm wide.
All the modules come 150 cm in height and the trellis can be cut at the desired height before the installation.
The user can install as many modules contiguously as her is pleased with. - Tags

- Starting from four basic configurations (80 cm or 160 cm wall and 80 cm or 160 cm island) it is possible to integrate additional accessories.
- Project Duration
- It took 1 year to fully develop the project and it all took place in Fabriano
- Operation Flow
- In addition to the ergonomic controls located on the front, it is possible to interact with the Open Suite through Vocal Assistant (Alexa, Google Home) or through the Elica app. A practical and fast tool that, in addition to remotely controlling the lights and extraction, provides feedback on filter maintenance and suggests valuable tips for maintaining the hood at its best.

- A monolithic structure, in which the functions of air and light become complementary: in the lower front side of the hob there is in fact a large LED light panel. A strategic light point during food preparation, to be used also as ambient light for the most convivial moments. You can adapt the intensity and color of the LEDs, from cold white to warmer ones to create the perfect atmosphere.
Thanks to the double suction unit and the special Long Life filters (which can be regenerated in the oven for 3 years), Open Suite has been designed to guarantee maximum performance in the filter version and maximum freedom of movement in the kitchen. - Inspiration
