About Buddha Said Illustration

Buddha Said is a series of illustrations based on the Dunhuang frescoes. Five classic stories from the frescoes are selected and redrawn for the series. The characters of each story are refined and combined with the scenes in a modern graphic style. Colors drawn from the Dunhuang murals give the images a grand and mysterious atmosphere. The illustrations are made with vector design software and printed at 800 by 800 millimeters in high resolution. The aim is to join tradition with modern design and to make these mural stories known to a wider public.
