About Belly Preg Mobile Application

Belly Preg is an application that tracks the physical change of a pregnant woman and monitors all stages of development of a baby. It contains relevant information from various specialists and allows users to understand the size of a baby by comparing it to visual objects. The application includes checklists for all pregnancy periods, as well as tools for monitoring weight, blood pressure, water intake, kicks, and contractions calculator.

Within the evolving landscape of digital health and wellness applications, Ekaterina Pine's Belly Preg Mobile Application emerges as a thoughtfully conceived companion for the pregnancy journey, demonstrating how contemporary interface design principles can serve deeply personal human experiences with grace and functionality. The application's visual language draws upon established conventions of healthcare technology while introducing warmth through its carefully calibrated color system, where soft pastels create an environment of calm reassurance during what can be an emotionally complex period. The central three-dimensional fetal illustration serves as both informational element and emotional anchor, rendered with anatomical sensitivity that honors the profound nature of prenatal development while maintaining appropriate abstraction for comfortable viewing. Technical accomplishment manifests in the modular card system organizing diverse tracking functions including tummy growth measurements, kick counting, pressure monitoring, and contraction timing into visually distinct yet cohesively styled components. The designer demonstrates sophisticated understanding of information architecture, presenting complex health data through intuitive visualizations including weekly progress indicators, graphical weight tracking, and calendar-based planning tools. Each interface element maintains generous spacing and clear typographic hierarchy, ensuring accessibility across varying user contexts and emotional states. The application's onboarding sequence, visible in the lower device presentations, establishes brand identity through a distinctive logomark combining organic circular forms in navy blue and coral that suggest both protection and vitality. This work invites contemplation of how digital tools might accompany life's most transformative experiences with sensitivity, offering viewers an opportunity to consider the intersection of technology, healthcare, and the intimate journey toward parenthood.

Production Technology
For the research was used such programs as Miro, Figma, Figma Jam, the main documentation was kept in Coda. The surveys were conducted in Google Forms. The interface design was developed using Photoshop and Figma.
Design Challenge
During the design process, one of the most difficult stages was understanding the user needs and user journey map development. Women who use the application will be prepared for childbirth and motherhood and their stress level is lower. I hope that the percentage of women who gave birth to healthy babies among users of our application will be higher.
Project Duration
The project started in October and finished in December in Moscow, Russia.
Operation Flow
Once the app is launched, the user can interact with the tools that monitor the physical change of a woman and every stage of a baby's development. The user can insert her data like weight, blood pressure, water intake, tummy growth, kicks and compare it with normal values. A smart abbreviation calculator will tell you when it is time to take off to the hospital. The application offers checklists for each trimester. It provides access to relevant information. It allows visualizing the size of the baby by comparing it to usual objects in every gestation period.
Research
The design began with a competitor analysis. As competitors, I decided to take the top five pregnancy applications. During the research, five people were interviewed and a survey of more than two hundred people was launched. My respondents were women from more than six countries. These activities helped me to understand the user needs and to develop a user journey map. Based on the design principles, it was decided to use pastel colors. To facilitate development native patterns were applied.
Inspiration
This project was based on personal experiences during pregnancy. So, I decided to design the application for women who want to track their pregnancy and save life balance during this period. During my work I passed all stages of the design process, starting with competitors analysis. Then, I conducted interviews and a survey. These activities allowed me to create a persona, user journey map, and other artifacts, which I used to design the final product.

Belly App is the application for women who want to track their pregnancy and save life balance during this period. This project was based on my personal experiences during pregnancy, so this topic is very close to me. I suggested the application for active women who want to track of their pregnancy and save balance between everyday routine and new activities.

I suggested the application for active women who want to track of their pregnancy and save balance between everyday routine and new activities.

I think this application will grow into a big product, which will include applications that will help new parents.

I only had a direction of work, but the topic I took from research

I intent to produce my work myrself

This project was based on my personal experiences during pregnancy, so this topic is very close to me.

Jony Ive (Former Chief Design Officer at Apple Inc.)

The main audience is pregnant woman who feel insecure and want to track their pregnancy according to their daily routine

This application has added features that are not found in other similar applications. For example, a water consumption counter, which is important at all stages of pregnancy. And also special attention is paid to the visual part of the interface.

It's simple, these are two words pregnancy and belly

Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Miro, Coda

I think the convenience of the interface

I worked alone, but sometimes consulted with other designers

One of the main roles. The visual part was made with Adobe Suit and Figma. Moreover I designed the results of the study and the process itself in Miro, Coda and so one.

Of course! I prodided the study that included a lot of activities, such as competitor analysis, deep interview, survey, persona, UJM, function prioritization, wireframes & prototypes, tested and improved prototypes, usability testing and hypotheses validation.

To determine the weak and strong poins of the app and to identify user’s concerns, pains and motives.

I follow many designers who have participated in various competitions and I think that participation in competitions helps to move forward professionally.

I realized that you should not be afraid of mistakes.

I don't think I have anything to add
