About Traces Of Zero Calendar

One card can be used as two-month calendar on both sides. Zero shaped frame is embossed with dates, and the thin paper inside the frame is Pachika paper which becomes translucent by hot stamping. Taking advantage of its characteristics, the minute and delicate realism of nature and the living world that are often overlooked was extracted. Those throw at you that seeing the world from viewpoint of Zero, that's with your clear eyes, will help you to find clues to a better world. Although it's a small desk calendar, it has a dynamic axis goes back and forth between micro and macro perspectives.

Traces Of Zero Calendar by Shilushi Inc. emerges from a rich intersection of design traditions that celebrate the contemplative relationship between human timekeeping and natural cyclical processes, positioning itself within the broader contemporary movement toward objects that transcend mere utility to become vehicles for daily meditation and aesthetic engagement with the passage of seasons and days. The work demonstrates exceptional technical achievement in its manipulation of transparent materials, where laser-etched imagery achieves remarkable precision and delicacy, transforming flat panels into windows upon the microscopic and macroscopic structures that define organic existence, from the intricate capillary networks of deciduous leaves to the cosmic scatter of cellular forms. Compositionally, the arrangement of six distinct yet harmonious elements suggests both the progression of months and the unity underlying temporal diversity, with each ovoid form offering a unique visual meditation while the consistent wooden bases provide grounding continuity. The choice of natural wood for the supporting cubes introduces material warmth that tempers the coolness of the transparent elements, creating a dialogue between manufactured precision and organic variation that speaks to fundamental questions about humanity's place within natural systems. Thematically, the work appears to explore how functional objects might serve as daily reminders of our embeddedness within larger natural cycles, transforming the mundane act of date-checking into an opportunity for contemplation of growth, change, and renewal. The specimen-like presentation evokes natural history museum traditions while the ethereal translucency suggests something more spiritual, perhaps inviting viewers to consider what traces we ourselves leave upon time's transparent surface.

Production Technology
PACHIKA paper is one of the unique fine papers that it becomes translucent by hot stamping. Letters, logos and simple patterns are often used in this effect as designs. Their challenge is not to use this effect to "draw" the detailed and delicate realism of nature and the living world that is difficult to see with the naked eye, but to "extract" them as they are by taking advantage of the characteristics of paper.
Design Challenge
As for hot stamping process for inner parts, experimental testing was repeated to raise its quality. At the first, all six pieces of pattern are pressed together on large sized paper, but it was ineffective because of weakness of stamping pressure. For this reason, they chose the time-consuming work of pressing one by one. It's no exaggeration to say that skills of technical experts, extensive knowledge and quality of craftsmanship made this calendar even more attractive.
Project Duration
Their originative calendars has been gifted to their clients and business partner on every beginning of the year since the company established 2015. It is the tool that not only expressing gratitude, but also calling to mind the pure delight, fun and enjoyment of creative design.
Operation Flow
Each calendar cards are inserted in a slit of wooden cube. By natural light, home lightings as well, it penetrates inside of 0-frame then patterns appear. Sensuous appearances combine solid white and organic inner pattern attract your attention for observation. And furthermore, you will immerse yourself in deep thoughts for a while.
