About Roofarm Rebranding Brand Identity

This project is a rebranding initiative accompanying Roofarm's business expansion. The company has grown from urban rooftop agriculture and is now expanding into large scale rural farming alongside its urban operations. At this stage, the corporate vision was redefined as Reinventing Agriculture to Sustain the World's Food Supply. This vision was translated into a circuit inspired identity that expresses agriculture as infrastructure. The identity features two interconnected forms that symbolize the relationship between urban and rural systems.

Mysterious Designer's Roofarm Rebranding Brand Identity situates itself within the contemporary evolution of corporate visual identity systems where credential design has emerged as a critical brand touchpoint extending far beyond mere functional identification to become a tangible expression of organizational values, operational culture, and strategic positioning, the work engages with design traditions rooted in Swiss International Style's emphasis on clarity, grid-based organization, and typographic hierarchy while incorporating digital-age aesthetic vocabularies including pixelated geometric forms that reference early computing, circuit board architecture, and contemporary data visualization conventions, this synthesis suggests the designer's awareness of agricultural technology's transformation from traditional practices to precision farming, smart agriculture, and data-driven cultivation methodologies where digital systems optimize organic growth processes, the credential system demonstrates sophisticated chromatic strategy deploying four distinct hue families—cool pale blue, warm coral-red, saturated azure, and luminous yellow—each achieving near-maximum saturation to ensure rapid visual differentiation critical in organizational contexts requiring instant role recognition or access-level identification, this color-coding architecture may correspond to departmental divisions, hierarchical structures, functional specializations, or geographic territories within the organization's operational framework, the consistent application of white typography and illustration against varying chromatic grounds reveals technical mastery of contrast optimization and legibility maintenance across diverse color spaces, the pixelated typographic treatment applied to geographic identifiers creates a distinctive visual signature that bridges agricultural heritage with technological innovation, the fragmented letterforms constructed from modular square units evoke microchip pathways, printed circuit board tracery, or LED display matrices while simultaneously suggesting pixelated satellite imagery, agricultural plot mapping, or data-grid visualization systems employed in precision farming technologies, this formal decision transforms functional location identification into conceptual statement about the organization's position at the intersection of traditional cultivation wisdom and contemporary agricultural science, the subtle background illustrations depicting greenhouse frameworks, cultivation beds, or geometric agricultural patterns function as secondary visual layer adding textural interest and thematic reinforcement without compromising the foreground information hierarchy, these delicate linear elements rendered in tonal values barely distinguishable from their chromatic grounds demonstrate restraint and sophistication avoiding the visual clutter that often compromises credential design when decorative impulses override functional requirements, the material selection combining rigid smooth badge surfaces with soft woven textile lanyards and reflective metal hardware components creates tactile diversity and signals professional-grade quality expectations, the black lanyard color provides neutral constant across the chromatic variation of the badges themselves ensuring system cohesion while the small white pixelated logos applied to the lanyard fabric extend brand presence to every system component, the photographic presentation employs conventions of contemporary product photography with neutral background elimination, diffused studio lighting creating gentle dimensional shadows, and casual overlapping arrangement that humanizes what might otherwise read as sterile corporate material, this presentation strategy positions the credentials as desirable objects worthy of aesthetic appreciation rather than purely utilitarian instruments, the overall system architecture exemplifies modular design thinking where consistent structural framework accommodates variation through chromatic substitution and personalized text content while maintaining instant recognizability and brand cohesion across all iterations, one might observe how such comprehensive visual identity systems shape daily organizational experience, how employees carrying these credentials become walking brand ambassadors, how the aesthetic choices communicate institutional priorities to both internal and external audiences, and how material design decisions at this scale contribute to culture-building and operational efficiency, what does it mean for an agricultural organization to embrace digital aesthetic vocabularies alongside organic subject matter, and how do these credential objects negotiate the tension between standardization necessary for institutional function and personalization essential for human dignity and individual recognition within collective structures?

Unique Properties
This project is a rebranding initiative accompanying RooFarm's business expansion. Against the projected 2050 food crisis and global supply chain challenges, the company has grown from urban rooftop agriculture and now expands into large-scale rural farming alongside its existing urban operations. At this turning point, the corporate vision was redefined as "Reinventing Agriculture to Sustain the World's Food Supply," repositioning agriculture as infrastructure supporting society. The visual identity system translated this shift into a cohesive brand foundation for continued growth.
Dimensions & Packaging
The logo was designed with reproducibility in both physical and digital formats as a fundamental premise. It maintains its symbolic integrity even in monochrome and features a structure that allows enlargement, reduction, and three-dimensional application. It functions as a scalable brand foundation that grows alongside business expansion.

Design Challenge
The greatest challenge of this project was to integrate the traditionally separate concepts of urban and rural and technology and agriculture into a single, clear brand identity. It needed to be simple yet possess strong symbolism, withstand discussion on a societal scale, and be forward thinking while retaining the approachability expected of a food brand. To achieve this balance, we pursued a structure that encapsulates maximum meaning with minimal elements.
Project Duration
The project commenced in Tokyo, Japan in October 2025 and is scheduled to launch in April 2026.
Operation Flow
The logo design is adaptable for diverse touchpoints including cardboard, planters, packaging and digital media. It creates a consistent brand experience from production sites to consumers. The logo silhouette balances technological sophistication with approachability as a food product.
Research
This project redefined the vision for agriculture pursued by RooFarm by organizing the business structures, social roles, and future scalability of both urban and rural agriculture. From a perspective that views agriculture not as production but as a foundation, we investigated and analyzed its relationships with technology, logistics, and social structures, exploring ways to visually integrate these elements.
Inspiration
RooFarm's new visual identity reexamines the fragmented structure in which cities consume and rural areas supply, envisioning a new model that reconnects urban and rural agriculture. It translates the concepts of reinventing, supporting, and becoming the foundation into a logo inspired by electronic circuits and circuit boards. Structured through two distinct yet interconnected forms, the mark presents agriculture not merely as production but as infrastructure, symbolizing both independence and interdependence between urban and rural systems.
