About The Rules of War Sreath Postaeir

Is éard atá in The Rules of War ná sraith postaeir faoin dlí daonnúil idirnáisiúnta agus faoi na rialacha srianta i gcoinbhleacht armtha. Baineann an tsraith úsáid go mór as spás diúltach, gan aon dathanna, cruthanna nó figiúirí a d'fhéadfadh aon taobh de choinbhleacht a chur in iúl. Cuireann ceithre théama i láthair na teagaisc chomhroinnte den dlí daonnúil idirnáisiúnta agus den Quran. Cruthaíodh na postaeir chun na rialacha seo a thabhairt níos gaire do lucht féachana Arabaise agus Moslamach le linn Ramadan. Tomhaiseann gach postaer 1000 faoi 700 miliméadar agus tá sé déanta le haghaidh úsáid chlóite agus dhigiteach araon.

Unique Properties
The thought-provoking poster design series utilizes mostly negative space to illustrative conceptual ideas about the rules of restraint in conflict. The brief entailed to include no colors, shapes, or figures that could point fingers at any sides of warring conflict, and so the use of a neutral but powerful image was the answer.

Research
To kickstart, an observation of the perception of the Red Cross in the Arab region amongst Muslim countries was taken note of, which was that it was a Christian organization that is secular even in providing aid and people were skeptical to donate money to it. Research was conducted on the similarities between International Humanitarian Law, which is essentially the mandate of Red Cross, and Quraan, which is in some sense the "mandate" of the aforementioned audience. The similarities were very clear and directly instructed, and therefore, four themes were identified to be visualized.
Inspiration
Created for the worst of times, International Humanitarian Law preserves the core of our common humanity. However, with the amount of shocking violations to it nowadays, its capacity to provide real protections for the victims of today's complex armed conflicts has been in question by many. To bring international humanitarian law closer to Arab speaking audiences and Muslim communities during Ramadan, this set of posters was created to stir conversation and communicate the very similar teachings of International Humanitarian Law and Islam.
Project Duration
This project was created during the month of May 2019 in Cairo, Egypt.
Operation Flow
These posters are designed to live both in printed and digital form. On social media platforms belonging to Red Cross, the posters garnered great relevance to the audience, and was shared widely. With people supporting the messages of peace and being in favor of promoting humanitarian values.
