About Luzern Uirlisí Cistine

Is éard atá i Luzern ná raon uirlisí cistine atá deartha do chócaireacht laethúil. Tá gach uirlis cruthaithe mar phíosa aonair amháin, rud a dhíbríonn céimeanna cóimeála agus a laghdaíonn ábhar agus saothar. Is polaprapailéin threisithe le snáithín gloine an t-ábhar, a roghnaíodh as a dhéine, a mharthanacht agus a shábháilteacht bia. Tá na huirlisí frithsheasmhach ar theas suas le 210 céim Celsius agus fanann siad bog go leor chun scríobadh ar phannaí agus potaí neamhghreamaitheacha a sheachaint. Tomhaiseann gach píosa 325 faoi 110 faoi 95 milliméadar agus meánn siad idir 38 agus 58 gram. Tá na hanlaí deartha do ghreim compordach.

Production Technology
Injection-molded, glass-fibre reinforced PP material.
Design Challenge
There was not much of a research challenge for this project since kitchen utensils have been around for a very long time. Also, in terms of manufacturing and materials, the choice to us glass-reinforced PP was straight forward. PP is commonly used, food-safe has excellent properties and reinforced with glass, has the stiffness needed for the job.
Research
The initial design phase was straight forward since the client knew exactly what kitchen utensils he wanted. We also knew from the beginning that we needed them to be in injection-molded plastic, requiring zero assembly steps.
Based on this simple design brief, we focused our research on different ergonomic handle options, while fine-tuning the material properties. It helped that the tooling and production would be handled in Germany, which is known for very high-quality manufacturing.
Inspiration
In essence, our goal was to create a one-piece design for each utensil which would be stiff enough for daily use, while also being ergonomic in its use. Usually, this would not be much of a difficulty when using metal as a base material. But since this was supposed to be a budget-line of utensils, plastics were the obvious choice. To achieve stiffness while maintaining excellent ergonomics, we had to reinforce standard PP material with glass filler, while paying most attention to the sculpting.
Project Duration
The project lasted from April 2017 until July 2017 in Hong Kong
Operation Flow
If you love to cook, you only want to use the best tools available. And if you own expensive non-stick pans and pots, then metal utensils are out of the question. Only soft kitchen utensils made of plastic or wood, help prevent scratches. But if you want something light, stiff, ergonomic and durable, then Luzern kitchen utensils are the right choice. Not only do they avoid scratching your expensive pans and pots, but they also fit perfectly in your hand.
