About Pool Kulit Buku
Pool ialah kulit buku interaktif yang dicipta untuk sebuah penerbitan sains. Reka bentuk ini mentafsir semula bentuk alga melalui aksara Cina, dan pelbagai bentuk alga diletakkan merentasi kulit buku supaya pembaca dapat berhubung dengan topik tersebut dengan serta-merta. Lakaran pelbagai jenis alga disaluti dengan varnis spot, yang mencipta pantulan seperti air dan tekstur yang realistik. Lakaran-lakaran ini merentasi keseluruhan kulit buku untuk membentuk imej sebuah kolam yang dipenuhi alga. Warna kuning neon dan nada kehijauan menunjukkan kepelbagaian alga. Kuiz padanan kecil pada kulit dalam membolehkan pembaca mempelajari nama-nama alga.

- Unique Properties
- Designer redesigns the look of algae with the Chinese character, and combined with numbers of algae on the cover, leading readers to associate with the topic immediately. Doodles of various types of algae are coated with translucent varnish which creates senses of watery reflection. They extend through the whole cover to create an image of pond that full of algae. A small matching quiz is designed on the inner cover for readers to get to know the names of algae.

- Production Technology
- For the main visual design, it is coated with spot varnish to emphasize the vivid effect and the realistic texture while it is brightly colored with neon yellow and greenish tones.
- Design Challenge
- The process of finding an attractive and an eye-catching way to design a science book cover requires several attampts and brain-storming.
- Inspiration
- It starts from a small pond which is filled with algae floating on the top of the surface, and can be found everywhere. The colorful design is meant to show the diversities and interesting sides of algae. Readers can also associate with the algae they have seen by touching the varnished algae doodles.
- Project Duration
- The designing project started and finished in December 2019 in Tainan, Taiwan, and was published in Taiwan on 5th of Decenber, 2019.
- Operation Flow
- Besides from the vivid color it used. A samll interactive quiz is designed on the inner cover of the book. Readers can choose the corresponded names to match the correct algae.
