The Design

About Serum Cosmetics Packaging

Its visual symbolism with the grand prix flag communicates the speed and effectiveness of the product's anti-wrinkle action. The reflection of the power and speed of reconstructive abilities of the product on the human skin was the inspiration behind the visual design. To underline its capacity, the inspiration was the black and white checkered flag of the grand prix, marking the product's rapid launch at providing the skin with protection. The hardest part of the process was the collaboration with the printer, in order to achieve the emboss on the silver box.

Interviews

Design Interview

What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?

The main principle and idea behind our design was to reflect the speed, energy, and competitive spirit associated with grand prix races in our product packaging. We chose a modern, dynamic, and striking design to capture these characteristics and attract the audience's attention. Our aesthetic draws inspiration from the world of Formula 1 and the nature of the fast and impressive cars that compete in these races. This way, our packaging elevates the product, making it stand out, sparking interest, and promising the thrill of a fast and impressive experience.

What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?

In designing this project, our primary focus was to create a communication that is easily recognizable and striking for the product. We aimed for the label to stand out in the market and attract consumers with its metallic texture and black-and-white color palette. The font, logo, and overall visualization of the label were designed to simplify product recognition and capture consumer interest at first glance. By doing so, we sought to establish an immediate connection with the audience and ensure that the product distinguishes itself from its competitors in its field, making the selection of the most suitable serum evident at first sight.

What are your future plans for this award winning design?

The award-winning project will be displayed through our website and social media pages to attract new customers and partners.

Grand Interview

Your innovative use of the grand prix flag symbolism in Serum Cosmetics Packaging creates a powerful visual metaphor for speed and effectiveness - could you elaborate on how this creative concept evolved during your design process?

The symbolism of the grand prix flag was incorporated to convey the sense of speed and efficiency that defines the Serum products. During the design process, we explored various textures and patterns, ultimately choosing the checkered pattern, which directly evokes movement and victory. The checkered pattern was added as an embossed design, creating a contemporary and striking effect.

The metallic texture combined with embossed patterns in Serum Cosmetics Packaging presented unique production challenges - what specific techniques and collaborations with printers were required to achieve this sophisticated finish?

The metallic texture and embossed checkered pattern required advanced production techniques. We worked closely with specialized printers who utilized thermography and precision embossing techniques. Multiple trials were conducted to ensure the balance between luxury and functionality was achieved.

As Serum Cosmetics Packaging was specifically created for dermatologists as an information promotion kit, how did this specialized audience influence your design decisions regarding materials, aesthetics, and functionality?

The fact that the product targets dermatologists influenced the choice of durable, medical-grade materials that convey reliability. The aesthetic remained minimalist yet luxurious, with an emphasis on clarity and legible typography. Functional details, such as easy-to-read information, ensured immediate comprehension.
