About Chillwild Spring Herbal Set Package
Chillwild Spring is a herbal set package designed for daily wellness rituals. The box contains 16 individually sealed single-serve herbal sachets and one handcrafted ceramic cup shaped like a bamboo joint. The minimalist outer box carries a 3D foil stamped logo with a subtle embossed texture, and shifting light and shadow patterns recall leaves in motion. All materials are plastic free, including recyclable paper and plant based corn fiber tea bags. The gradient green glaze of the cup suggests growing bamboo. The design links traditional Chinese medicinal principles with modern urban life.

What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
The design is rooted in the idea of reviving traditional Chinese herbal wisdom through a contemporary lens. Inspired by Lichun, the Start of Spring in the lunar calendar, it symbolizes renewal, balance, and natural vitality. We aimed to create a wellness product that connects modern users with timeless nourishment, using visual elements like dynamic light and shadow, and materials such as bamboo and biodegradable tea bags to reflect the harmony between nature and design.
What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?
Our main focus was to make traditional herbal wellness more approachable, beautiful, and sustainable. We wanted to break the stereotype that Chinese medicine is complex or outdated, and instead present it as something modern, elegant, and intuitive. By simplifying the user experience and elevating the packaging aesthetics, we hoped to bring ancient wisdom into the rhythm of modern life.
What are your future plans for this award winning design?
This limited edition is a one-time release and will not be reproduced. As a seasonal design inspired by the Start of Spring, it was meant to capture a specific moment of renewal and ritual. While this exact edition is now retired, we will continue exploring new directions under the ChillWild brand with future seasonal collections based on other solar terms.

- Chillwild reimagines herbal wellness by integrating traditional Chinese medicinal principles with modern lifestyles. Rooted in the philosophy of food as medicine, it offers a convenient yet culturally rich experience. The minimalist packaging features dynamic light and shadow patterns that evoke a sense of nature and calm. All materials are plastic free and FSC certified. A bamboo-joint ceramic cup, symbolizing seasonal renewal, adds a poetic touch to everyday wellness rituals.

- Outer packaging dimensions: Width 332 mm x Depth 100 mm x Height 80 mm. The box contains 16 individually sealed herbal sachets and one handcrafted ceramic cup. Each sachet is single serve, vacuum sealed, and placed in an inner paper drawer tray for protection and organized presentation. All materials are biodegradable and plastic free.

A soft color palette and light interactions enhance the design, capturing Eastern aesthetics and the essence of renewal.

- The research began with interviews and surveys targeting young urban professionals, revealing common issues such as fatigue, insomnia, and anxiety. These insights informed the formulation of herbal blends using principles from traditional Chinese medicine, guided by the philosophy of food as medicine. The design integrates elements like bamboo, garden shadow play, and seasonal symbolism to reflect cultural roots while addressing modern wellness needs.
- Inspiration
- Inspired by the renewal of spring, the resilience of bamboo, and the balance found in traditional tea culture, this design translates natural elements into a contemporary visual language. Light and shadow effects mimic the shifting qualities of spring sunlight, while the gradient green glaze reflects the energy of growing bamboo. The minimalist aesthetic and the brand signature greater than symbol express growth, harmony, and mindful living.
- Project Duration
- Design of the project began in October 2024 and be completed in December 2024.
- Operation Flow
- The outer box opens like a gift, revealing individually sealed herbal packs arranged in orderly rows, inviting a sense of calm and ritual. As light hits the textured surface, shifting shadows mimic leaves in motion, creating a dynamic visual experience. The greater than symbol on the box guides the eye forward, subtly suggesting progress and wellbeing. Each element encourages users to slow down, reconnect with nature, and embrace wellness with intention.
