The Design

About Xiyes Tea Gift

Xiyes is a packaging set for a tea gift, inspired by traditional Chinese hospitality. Four patterns appear on the small inner packages, representing humility, warmth, respect and enthusiasm. Each pattern is formed from calligraphic strokes in the logo, rearranged into images that suggest traditional Chinese cultural figures. The packaging is made from renewable cellulose-based materials, selected for durability, pressure resistance and moisture retention. The outer box has a magnetic closure, and individually sealed tea sachets rest on a cellulose tray inside.

Production Technology
The Xiyes Tea Gift packaging is crafted from renewable cellulose-based materials, chosen for their superior durability, pressure resistance, and excellent moisture-retention properties - ensuring optimal freshness and protection for the tea leaves throughout storage and transit.
Design Challenge
The primary challenge in designing XIYES Tea Gift lay in authentically conveying the depth of Chinese cultural ethos, particularly Confucian values of reciprocity and respect, within a contemporary minimalist aesthetic.
Inspiration
In a world that moves ever faster, we return to the quiet wisdom of tradition, where every cup of tea is an invitation to connect, to honor, and to give with intention. The Xiyes Tea Gift draws from the timeless spirit of Chinese hospitality: "Is it not a joy to welcome friends from afar?" Through minimalist elegance, symbolic calligraphic forms, and sustainable craftsmanship, this design reimagines the ancient ritual of tea gifting as a modern expression of respect, warmth, and reciprocity.
Operation Flow
The outer box features a magnetic closure, gentle to open, yet rich in ritualistic elegance. Inside, tea sachets are neatly arranged on a sustainable cellulose tray, each individually sealed for freshness.
